Sap and Spile is a novella length paranormal romance book by author Vera Valentine. The 3 main romantic characters are Mila (a human woman), Alsam, and Sier (both Evergreen Dryads / Tree Shifters).
This story originally appeared in the Into the Woods anthology, published in March of 2022, as "Sap, Snow, and Spile." While the tone of the story is more serious, it was originally born out of a tongue-in-cheek idea for dryads that were secretly Christmas trees. The two male main characters' names are drawn from evergreen trees - (B)alsam and (Fra)sier Fir.
